vikings.com looks back on the week what was at Winter Park (or, as is the case for the next few weeks, Minnesota State Mankato) via the "Winter Park Rewind."
After the team's second off-day of camp on Sunday, August 4, the team got back to business with three days of practice prior to Friday's preseason opener vs. the Texans. Mike Wobschall got the week started with the Monday Morning Mailbag where he addressed the next Viking to potentially head to the Pro Football Hall of Fame,
Other news stories on the day included the team releasing its first depth chart of the season, along with a pair of stories -- one by Wobschall, the other by the AP -- on a now matured

Hoo-ray, a game! Just prior to the preseason opener vs. the Texans, the Vikings announced that Joey Browner would join the Ring of Honor later this season. Read about that here.
The game itself -- a 27-13 loss to the Texans -- was pretty much what most first preseason games look like. Wobschall looks at the five biggest takeaways from the game here.
